What is Swapper Protection?

How the small swap fee works, what it covers, and a worked example.

What Swapper Protection covers

When you swap on Swopsee, Swapper Protection keeps both sides covered. If an item never arrives, or turns up significantly not as described, you're protected while we help put it right — the same safety net a buyer gets on a purchase.

How the fee works

Swapper Protection is 5% of the swap's value (the higher-valued side), with a minimum of £1.50 and a maximum of £8. It's split evenly, so each person pays half. Listing and swapping are always free — this is the only swap fee, it covers you both, and it is never a seller commission.

A worked example

On a £30 swap, Swapper Protection is £1.50 in total — just 75p each. On a £100 swap it's £5 in total, or £2.50 each.

Refunds

If a protected swap goes wrong and cannot be resolved, we refund what you paid in line with our Buyer & Swapper Protection Policy. See our Refunds & Disputes Policy for how claims and timelines work.
